Frequently Asked Questions
Most people arrive with the same handful of questions. Here are the answers, in plain terms — fees, scheduling, what sessions look like, and what happens if it isn't the right fit. Before you reach out: If your question isn't answered here, ask it in the contact form. This practice is not a crisis service. If you need immediate support, see the crisis resources on the Resources page.

The cost for a 45-55 minute session is $175.

I’m an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance. However, I can provide you with a superbill that you may be able to use to receive reimbursement from your insurance company.
-
To maintain accessibility, I am able to offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots to individuals with limited financial resources. If this applies to you, please let me know when you reach out so we can explore our options.
-
During the first two or three appointments, we'll complete an intake process and explore your objectives for therapy. We'll review my practice policies, discuss your hopes and expectations for the process, and identify an initial focus for our work. I'll share my impressions and recommendations, and together we'll develop a plan for therapy that supports your self-determined goals. If you decide that you'd like to move forward with the plan, you will attend regular therapy sessions with me either in person at my office or virtually.
-
Sessions are typically 45-55 minutes long. I provide this range to allow us to devote 45 minutes to the therapy itself, with a 10-minute buffer to wind things down and take care of any housekeeping.
-
I do not answer calls or check messages while I am meeting with clients, outside of my regular business hours, or when I am otherwise unavailable. If you leave a voicemail or send me an email, I will respond as soon as reasonably possible. For non-urgent matters, please allow up to three business days for a response. Please note that email and voicemail should not be used for emergencies or situations requiring an immediate response.
-
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or feel that you are unable to keep yourself or someone else safe, please:
Go to the nearest hospital emergency department.
Contact the Rapid Response Access Point at 1-833-710-6477.
Call 911 or your local emergency services.
-
Participation in therapy with me is voluntary and you have the right to discontinue our work together at any time. I ask that, whenever possible, we schedule a final session to review your progress, address any remaining concerns, and discuss recommendations or referrals that may support your continued well-being.
-
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice or considered a no-call/no-show will incur a $50 cancellation fee. This fee is your responsibility and must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
-
If you arrive late, your session will still end at the scheduled time to avoid delaying other clients' appointments. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late without prior communication, the appointment may be considered a no-call/no-show, canceled, and the $50 cancellation fee may be charged.
-
Payment is due in full at the time of each appointment unless other arrangements have been made in advance. If you have been approved for a reduced fee through a sliding scale arrangement, the agreed-upon amount is due at the time of your appointment. When you get set up on my Client Portal (via Therapy Notes), you will be required to provide a valid credit or debit card to keep on file with the practice, which will be charged automatically after our sessions.
-
My Client Portal/telehealth platform is run by a company called Therapy Notes. Once we confirm that we are a good fit and you’d like to move forward with therapy, I will send you a link to get set up on the Client Portal. Therapy Notes ensure that our meetings take place on a secure and HIPAA-compliant platform. You can join from the browser on your phone, tablet, or computer. The link to join is the same for every session. Make sure you have a private and quiet place where you can meet for the duration of the appointment, with minimal distractions.
